Welcome to Express Brake!

The Express Brake™ is a revolutionary truck brake system for the heavy duty truck market designed to reduce brake maintenance costs and improve brake safety. The brake system meets the demanding requirements of all trailer and high-cycle vehicle applications and offers substantial savings in air brake costs associated with brake drums, linings, down-time, and labor. It also offers significantly better stopping power and safety for truck and trailer fleets of all vocations. The extended life brakes feature uniform thickness, rivet-less brake linings from Abex and Haldex. Designed for extended drum life, greater lining life, improved stopping power, reduced rust-jacking, and quieter operation, the Express Brake™ is a great way to offset the higher costs of fuel and improve road safety on today’s severe duty fleets.

The Express Brake™ uses a patented method of applying top O.E.M. rated friction materials to a stainless steel shoe table without rivets or bonding, increasing brake shoe surface area by about 12%. Available linings include premium lines from Abex and Haldex. Eliminating rivet holes stops the build-up of abrasive road sludge, minimizing drum damage. Its design also uniformly applies more material to the drum than conventional riveted shoes, greatly extending the life of the brake linings and drums and resulting in better stopping power, about 9% shorter stops as documented in independent testing.

The shoe's unique design also allows the brake to be relined right on the wheel end, eliminating core hassles. Handling, storing, transporting, even accounting for core credits is a thing of the past. The stainless steel tables and enhanced shoe construction allow your cores to stay on your vehicle without sending to a re-liner for re-conditioning.

The severe duty brakes are a direct replacement for 4515 or 4707 brake shoes and fit 16 ½" X 7” dual anchor pin applications. Once an axle is equipped with the Express Brake shoe, each subsequent brake job involves replacing pads and hardware only.

The Express Brake™ system meets the federal government’s standards for air brakes in FMVSS 121.

Express Brake International also produces the world’s most cost effective brake drum handler, the DrumCaddy™. This simple machine allows shops to safely and easily remove or install, pick-up or set-down, or transport 120+lb brake drums with only about 35 lbs of effort.

Lifting and positioning drums into place by hand puts mechanics at risk of major back and hand injuries. In today’s high cost environment, even one workman compensation claim can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, not to mention causing the loss of a valuable employee. This tool is lightweight, stores easily when not in use, and extremely versatile. It has pneumatic tires allowing use on uneven floors or gravel yards. If your shop is interested in improving safety or reducing complaints about handling heavy brake drums, this tool is for you.
